Privacy Policy

The app

• No accounts and no analytics. ZynView does not send usage data to us. The only third-party data flow is advertising, described below.
• Stored on your phone only: the pairing QR for your dash (including its Wi-Fi name and password), your setup progress, display settings, and a connection log.
• Logs never leave the phone unless you choose to share them. They can contain your dash’s Wi-Fi details, so share them only with people you trust.
• Network: the app joins the dash’s own Wi-Fi and talks to Android Auto on the phone. It does not contact our servers.

Permissions and why they are used

• Camera: only to scan the QR code on the dash.
• Nearby devices, Wi-Fi state and Local network: to join and talk to the dash over Wi-Fi.
• Location (Android 12 and older): Android requires it to join a Wi-Fi hotspot. It is not used to track you.
• Advertising ID: used by AdMob as described above.
• Bluetooth (connect): so Android Auto can start a wireless session.
• Notifications and foreground service: to keep the connection alive while projecting.

Advertising (Google AdMob)

The app shows banner ads served by Google AdMob. To choose, show and measure ads, Google may collect and use your device’s advertising ID, IP address, approximate location, device information and how you interact with ads. We do not receive this data about you.

• Consent. Where the law requires it (for example in the European Economic Area and the UK), the app asks for your consent with Google’s consent form before any ad is requested. You can change your choice later under About, “Ad privacy settings”, when it is shown.
• Advertising ID. You can reset it or opt out of personalised ads in Android Settings under Google, then Ads.

While your phone is connected to the dash’s Wi-Fi it has no internet, so no ads load then.

Android Auto and Google

ZynView works with Android Auto, which is provided by Google and has its own privacy policy. ZynView is not affiliated with Google.

This website

The website does not set cookies and does not use analytics or advertising. Our hosting provider may keep standard server logs (such as IP address and requested page) for security and operation.
